The Sales Planning and Support Manager will work to assist the Director of Sales at working across disciplines throughout the organization to effectively help accomplish the overall account plans and objectives by assisting in supporting specific areas of responsibility for assigned accounts. You will provide analysis, reporting and sales support for multiple retail partners and sales agencies in the mid-west and east coast including but not limited to Kmart, Kohls, Meijer, and Walgreens. The role is responsible for assisting in accomplishing all sales, shipments, inventory, and margin targets for assigned accounts.

 

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively throughout Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Product Development to insure that we exceeding customer expectations and revenue goals. This position will be based out of our corporate office in Arlington Heights, IL.

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Planning

        • Provide analysis on sales driving opportunities, markdown projections, gross margin projections and strategies for improvement.
        • Provide Liner footage analysis on modulars with units per store per week and dollar per store per week information.
        • Works closely with sales analyst/supply chain to drive forecast accuracy and attain inventory and in-stock metrics.
        • Prepare promotional proposals thru the use of the VTech financial processes to drive effective promotional planning with ROI analysis
        • Assist in developing sales strategies, budgets, and promotional programs.
        • Monthly tracking of Cost of Business and markdown summary,

 

 

Sales Support

        • Manage assigned accounts and sales representatives to maximize value and grow profitable sales under the direction of Sales Director. Attend customer meetings, trade conferences, and travel as needed within the territory to drive sales.
        • Customer point of contact for day to day requirements such as quote sheets, item set-ups, product specs, marketing assets, samples, etc.
        • Vendor portal management: Item set-up and maintenance, running POS reports, maintaining updated vendor forms, agreements, certificates, etc
        • Administrative responsibilities including but not limited to: customer meeting preparation, powerpoint presentations, quote sheets, review and routing of vendor guides, shipping manuals, etc.
        • Maintain & communicate schedules for customer key deliverables and deadlines: Presentation dates, Planogram dates, sample requirements, pricing, assets, delivery dates, etc.
        • Work with Sales Team, Marketing, Merchandising and Supply Chain to coordinate implementation of projects such as promotions, ads, endcaps and features.
        • Opportunity for position to develop into more direct account management, with oversight and direction from Sales Director 

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

        • Knowledge and understanding of working with retailer portals and item set-ups
        • Account management and sales analysis expereince for retail hard goods. Toy industry experience is a plus.
        • Excellent organization, written and oral communications skills
        • Ability to read and interpret modular plans
        • Forecasting and data analysis experience.
        • Strong MS Office skills including Excel (including pivot tables, formulas and macros) and Powerpoint.
        • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and across multiple departments and with customer teams.
        • Ability to work independently, be a self starter, and manage time to meet changing deadlines and priorities
        • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues
        • Ability to meet multiple deadlines under conditions characterized by short lead times and changing priorities

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

        • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Retail Sales Analysis and Forecasting ; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform assigned tasks.
