The Human Resource Business Partner us responsible for on site, day-to-day HR operations within our Arlington Heights office and will engage in a variety of human resource initiatives with the US HR team across multiple divisions within the US. This opportunity reports into our SVP of HR, US Operations, and will interact closely with management to effectively execute both local and regional initiatives within our organization. This role provides the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that include management of key initiatives and projects, reporting and analysis, process improvement, cultural enhancements and generalist responsibilities, under the direction of the SVP of HR, US Operations.



  • Provide primarypoint of contact support to all US based VTech Electronics employees
  • Educate employees regarding HR Programs and practices
  • Plan, organize and recommend process enhancements to HR practices
  • Insure that employment practices are compliant with federal, state and local guidelines and free from any form of harassment and/or discrimination
  • Demonstrate and guide others to ensure that our culture enhances the work environment, facilitate quality work and allow the both company and our people to thrive
  • Collaborate with Sr. Recruiter and provide recruiting support, such as working with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, facilitate and participate in the interviewing process, etc.
  • Help maintain HRIS data and provide payroll backup for US operations
  • Manage the New Employee Orientation/On-boarding process as well as termination process
  • Take lead on employee relations and goodwill, assuring that the SVP of HR is aware of all matters
  • Provide performance management coaching and support to managers and employees around establishing appropriate goals and metrics, training and growth, performance improvement, as well as assistance to all employees in training on using the performance management software
  • Drive wellness and safety initiatives
  • Oversee the Employee Activities Committee for employee events and philanthropic efforts
  • Assess and identify HR priorities for our IL office
  • Provide support and participate in compensation mapping for new hires and internal movement
  • Develop and/or provide data for corporate reporting, such as the quarterly sustainability report for Hong Kong
  • Lead safety initiatives as well as chair the Safety Committee, hold practice fire drills, ensure appropriate evacuation maps are posted, etc.
  • Lead the employee recognition program
  • Help define and follow all organizational policies
  • Support our SVP of HR, US Operations on a variety of projects, such as research and analysis, workforce oversight, new program development and implementation, etc.  


  • Strong knowledge of HR administration, processes and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be comfortable communicating with executives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience building collaborative relationships with HR team as well as others throughout the organization to define and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to keep information confidential
  • Demonstrated expertise of HR principles and practices.
  • Employee relationship experience.
  • ADP WorkforceNow and payroll knowledge is ideal.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Analytical ability to quickly review situations, assess and recommend actions based on processes and HR best practices.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm, controlled manner
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform assigned tasks. Masters degree and PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP are desirable.
